5 video mistakes that are costing you views
Here are the biggest mistakes I see when people make video content. Fix these five and your videos will do more than look good — they’ll actually work.

The five that cost you most
- No captions. Most people watch with the sound off. No captions, fewer viewers — and animated captions grab attention straight away.
- Bad audio. It doesn’t matter how good the video looks; if the sound’s off, people switch off. Clear audio makes everything feel sharper.
- Lazy editing. You don’t need fancy transitions, but you do need rhythm — a few sound effects and tight pacing so it’s actually engaging.
- No structure. A lot of people just hit record and hope. Think about what you’re saying and in what order. Hook them early, get to the point.
- No visibility plan. You can make the best video in the world, but if no one sees it, what’s the point? Have a plan to get it seen — organic or ads.
Fix these and they’ll work
Sort those five and your videos will do more than just look good — they’ll actually pull their weight. Most “my content isn’t working” problems trace back to one of these.
