Last updated: June 2026
1. Who we are
This website, thesequence.co.uk, is operated by The Sequence Agency Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 09638368, with its registered office at Bakers Lane, Black Notley, Braintree, Essex, CM77 8QS. Our VAT number is GB 218328217.
We are the "controller" of the personal data we process about you. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at hello@thesequence.co.uk or 01376 780005.
2. The personal data we collect
We collect and process the following categories of personal data:
- Enquiry data — your name, email address, Instagram handle (if you give it) and the contents of any message you send us through our contact form or by email.
- Client & project data — if you become a client, the information needed to deliver our services, including contact details, business details and project requirements.
- Payment data — where you pay for services, payment is handled by our payment providers; we do not store full card details.
- Technical & usage data — your IP address, device and browser type, and how you interact with our site. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies, and only where you have consented (see our Cookies Policy).
We do not knowingly collect any special category data (such as health, ethnicity or political opinions), and we do not collect data from children.
3. How we use your data, and our legal bases
| What we do | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Respond to your enquiry and arrange a call | Legitimate interests, and steps taken at your request before entering a contract |
| Provide and manage the services you book | Performance of our contract with you |
| Take payment and keep accounting records | Contract, and legal obligation |
| Measure and improve the website, and measure our advertising | Your consent (you can withdraw it at any time) |
| Send you occasional updates about similar services (clients only) | Legitimate interests — you can opt out at any time |
4. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising. These only run where you have given consent through our cookie banner, and you can change or withdraw your consent at any time. Full details — including every third-party tool we use — are in our Cookies Policy.
5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers ("processors") who help us run our business, and only as far as needed. These include:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads) | Website analytics and advertising measurement |
| Meta Platforms (Meta Pixel & Conversions API) | Advertising measurement and audiences |
| Microsoft (Clarity) | Aggregated session analytics and heatmaps |
| Vercel | Website hosting |
| Resend | Delivering enquiry emails to us |
We may also disclose your data where required by law, or to protect our rights, property or safety.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework — so that your data receives an equivalent level of protection.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep enquiry data for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client. We keep client and accounting records for as long as needed to provide services and to meet our legal and tax obligations (generally six years). Analytics data is retained in line with the settings described in our Cookies Policy.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased in certain circumstances;
- restrict or object to our processing;
- data portability;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@thesequence.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above. Please check back occasionally.
