The brief

Powerful software.
Hard to explain.

AppFox make productivity apps that sit inside tools like Jira and Confluence. The features are abstract, so screenshots and text only go so far. They needed each app understood quickly, in a look that matched their brand.

What we did

From screen recordings
to videos that explain.

We have made explainer, promo and training video for AppFox across their app range. The Workflow Builder tutorial in 2026 shows how we work.

Raw recordings in

AppFox sent 8 recordings: for each chapter, one of the presenter and voice, and one screen recording of the app.

Cut and paced

We pieced them into a single tutorial of about 16 minutes, in the look of their earlier videos with a subtle shift towards their newer branding. A first draft went to AppFox in 7 days.

Refined with their team

Their stakeholders left comments in the review player. We added a circular presenter frame and animated titles reading “INTUITIVE”, “NO-CODE” and “DOCUMENT AUTOMATION”, as they asked.

Ready to publish

We delivered subtitle files with the final video, so it could go live on their channels with captions.

What did The Sequence make for AppFox?

Explainer and promo video, animation, training video and branded motion graphics for their apps for Jira, Confluence, Trello and monday.com.

How do you explain software that is hard to film?

With animation and screen capture. We use motion graphics to show workflows that cannot be filmed, and pace the screen recordings so each step is easy to follow.

Can you edit video our own team has recorded?

Yes. For the Workflow Builder tutorial AppFox recorded the presenter and the screen captures themselves, and we edited them into a finished tutorial, with subtitles, ready to publish.
