Your content is not converting? It is probably not what you think

When content is not converting, most people assume the answer is to post more. Usually it is not. Here are the things actually worth checking first.

Part of the guide: Social media marketing for service businesses

If your content is not converting, the fix is rarely to post more. Check two things first: is your content good enough, and is it reaching the right people? A lot of businesses are still posting templated, Canva style graphics that worked five or six years ago. The platforms want video and so does your audience. If you already use video, check your hook and your messaging.

If your content is not converting, most people assume they just need to post more. Usually that is not it. There are a few things worth checking first. Is your content good enough, and is it reaching the right people?

The fix is rarely "post more". It is finding what works for your business.

Do templated Canva style graphics still work on social media?

Not like they used to. Plenty of businesses are still posting templated, Canva style graphics that probably worked five or six years ago. Now the platforms want video, your audience wants video, and if you are not using it you are being left behind. If your content is not converting, that is one of the first things to check, well before you post more.

My videos are not converting, what should I check?

Start with the fundamentals. Is your hook strong enough? Is your messaging landing with your audience? What works for one business will not work for another. We have had clients where scripted teleprompter content did brilliantly, and others where it flopped, so we scrapped it, switched to handheld Q and A, changed the location, and their views went through the roof. It is about finding what works for your business specifically.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my content not converting into leads?

It is rarely about posting more. Check whether the content is genuinely good, whether it reaches the right people, and whether your hook and message land. One of those is usually the issue.

Should I post more if my content is not working?

Usually not. Posting more weak content does not fix a weak hook or the wrong audience. Diagnose what is off first, then improve it.

Are Canva graphics still effective?

Less so. Templated graphics that worked years ago underperform now. The platforms and your audience favour video, so that is where to focus.

What makes social content actually convert?

A strong hook, a message that lands with your specific audience, and getting it in front of the right people. What works for one business may not work for another, so test and adjust.
